How to Increase Payout on Zomato
More orders do not always mean more money. Here is how payout is really calculated, where it leaks, and how one restaurant went from ₹134 to ₹18,024 a week.

"Orders aa rahe hain. Par paise nahi aa rahe." If that sounds familiar, you are not alone. Your Zomato payout is what actually reaches your bank account, and for many restaurants it is far smaller than the order value suggests.
How payout is calculated
In simple terms, your payout is the value of your orders minus everything taken out along the way: platform commission, the share of discounts you fund, ad spend, payment and other charges, and taxes. Cancellations and refunds reduce it further. Read your weekly payout statement line by line at least once. Most owners are surprised by where the money goes.
Leak 1: Discounts you fund without knowing
Many offers are funded partly or fully by the restaurant. A flat 50% off can bring orders that leave almost nothing after commission. Know exactly who funds each offer, and keep only the ones that bring profitable new customers.
Leak 2: Prices copied from the dining room
Dine in prices do not include commission and packaging. Price for the app so that every order still makes money, and use combos to raise order value instead of cutting prices.
Leak 3: Ads with no framework
Ads spend comes straight out of payout. Without targeting, a daily budget and weekly review, ads can cost more than the orders they bring.
Leak 4: Cancellations and complaints
Rejected orders, late deliveries and wrong items cost you refunds, ratings and ranking. Fix the kitchen and packaging problems behind them and payout improves on its own.
Grow the top line too
Stopping leaks protects payout. Growing payout needs more of the right orders: a listing that ranks, a menu that converts, and ads that pay back.
A real example
One restaurant came to us earning ₹134 in weekly payout from 2 orders a week. Listed, but invisible. We rebuilt the listing, restructured the menu and launched a targeted ad framework. Four weeks later, the same restaurant, with the same food in the same kitchen, earned ₹18,024 in a week from 184 orders. Same business. Better system. That is a 134 times increase in payout.
Your checklist
- Read your last four payout statements line by line.
- List every offer and who funds it.
- Check your prices against commission and packaging.
- Review ad spend against the orders it brought.
- Fix the top reason for cancellations and complaints.
