Why Your Swiggy Orders Are Low (and How to Fix It)
Low Swiggy orders almost always come from one of six causes. Here is how to find yours in an afternoon, and what to do about each one.
By Silverspoon Team

"Orders aa rahe hain, par bahut kam." We hear it from restaurant owners every week. Good food, a reasonable price and yet only a handful of Swiggy orders a day. The good news is that low orders almost always come from a short list of causes, and each one can be found and fixed.
Start with the funnel
Open your Swiggy partner dashboard and look at three numbers for the last four weeks:
- Impressions: how many people saw your restaurant in a list or search.
- Menu opens: how many of them tapped to see your menu.
- Orders: how many of those placed an order.
Where the drop happens tells you what to fix. Few impressions is a visibility problem. Many impressions but few menu opens is a first impression problem. Many menu opens but few orders is a menu and pricing problem.
Cause 1: Nobody sees you
If impressions are low, Swiggy is not showing you. Check your cuisine tags, your dish names, your delivery radius and whether you are actually online during peak hours. Restaurants that switch off during busy times, or that have a very small radius, lose visibility fast.
Cause 2: People see you but do not tap
If impressions are healthy but menu opens are low, the problem is what customers see in the list: your cover image, your rating, your price for one and your offer. Compare yourself honestly with the five restaurants that appear next to you. If they all look more appetising, that is your answer.
Cause 3: People open the menu but do not order
This is usually the menu itself. Too many items, no photos on the best dishes, unclear names, prices that look high next to competitors, or a minimum order that is hard to reach. A focused menu with clear hero dishes converts far better than a long list.
Cause 4: Your rating is holding you back
Below 4.0, many customers simply do not consider you. Read your last fifty reviews and group the complaints. Late delivery, cold food, small portions and wrong items are the usual ones, and each has a kitchen or packaging fix.
Cause 5: Your operations are hurting you
High rejection rates, long preparation times and frequent cancellations all push you down the list. Swiggy rewards restaurants that are reliable. Set realistic preparation times and make sure orders are accepted quickly.
Cause 6: You are buying orders at a loss
Sometimes orders are not low, they just do not make money, so it feels like nothing is working. Heavy discounts and commission can leave you with almost nothing per order. That is a pricing and menu engineering problem, not a visibility one.
What to do this week
- Pull the funnel numbers and find where the drop is.
- Fix the cover image and the first category of your menu.
- Check your timings, tags and radius.
- Read your reviews and fix the most common complaint.
- Stop any offer you cannot prove pays back.
Most restaurants that do these five things properly see orders move within two weeks.
